We've been raising a commercial Angus herd since 1996. We AI 40% of our cows every year. 100% of our replacement heifers come from the ranch, so we are confident of their genetics and know their mother's and father's temperaments. Also, more than 90% of our herd sires are home raised. We have a small registered her and will occasionally buy a bull or older cows to prevent line breeding. In addition, our pastures border wilderness areas, so our calves are raised with grizzlies, wolves, eagles, etc. |
