Safe Quality Food (SQF) Auditor

Location: 100% travel required near homebase

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • 100% travel as the schedule dictates

  • Verifiers will be trained on program requirements and participate in ongoing training, knowledge share and process improvement

  • The core verification process includes coordinating verifications with the office and customer, preparing for onsite verifications, conducting verifications, completing appropriate checklists, and submitting all relevant information to the Verification team.
     

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in agriculture or food science

  • At least 5 years of work experience in food related industry:

    • Eggplant, meat plant, dairy plant, feed mills

    • Demonstrate 160 hours of auditing experience

    • Only audits that have been acquired up to 10 years prior to application will be accepted

  • HACCP training required

  • Exceptional communication skills and heightened attention to detail

  • Strong sense of urgency towards customer service and task management

  • Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning

  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively and efficiently with completing deadlines.

  • Must have a positive, solution-oriented attitude and be a team player

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

 

Desired Skills:

  • Previous SQF experience or willingness to attend weeklong training/exam to obtain it

    • Maintain SQF Auditor certification by completing minimum of 6 audit per year

    • Participate in Professional Development webinar – 4 hours

    • Maintain 15 hours of continuing professional development annually
       

Salary:

  • Independent contract position: income potential based on audit capacity.
