JOIN OUR TEAM
The Intern will gain hands-on experience in the agriculture and food industry, work closely with experienced professionals and mentors, and have an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives with a focus on mapping out research, data analysis, and public engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and mapping out comprehensive research plans on sustainability and upcycled food.
Collaborate with team members to outline research goals, methodologies, and expected outcomes.
Collect and review technical data from scientific literature, regulatory documents, and industry reports.
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of interest related to food systems and sustainability.
Assist with preparation, launch, and management of a public open forum for community comments on food policy and sustainability initiatives including developing communication materials and engaging with stakeholders.
Collect and organize public comments, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of collected comments to identify common themes, concerns, and suggestions.
Prepare reports summarizing findings and provide recommendations for action based on identified trends.Â
Communicate research findings and project updates through written reports, presentations, and team meetings.
Ensure all research activities and documentation adhere to company standards and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, project milestones, and communication activities.
Assist with market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the agricultural industry.
Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas to discussions.
Participate in training sessions and professional development activities.
Perform any other responsibilities as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on food science, sustainability, food systems, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, agribusiness, or similar degree program
Strong understanding of food systems, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
Demonstrated experience in research methodology, data collection, and analysis
Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated
Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Teamwork attitude with a strong aptitude for professionalism and courtesy
Ability to process a high volume of data in a productive and quality driven manner
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal/external staff, vendors, and clients
Strong written communication skills, with experience in grant writing preferred

Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools
Familiarity with public policy processes and experience engaging with community or stakeholder groups
Knowledge of current trends and challenges in food systems sustainability and regulatory compliance
Experience with project management tools and techniques

Physical Requirements
Able to use standard computer keyboard and screen on a frequent basis.
Able to sit for up to 8 hours.
Ability to use video conferencing tools, phone, and email for communication, which may involve speaking clearly and listening attentively
May need to lift or move light objects, such as a laptop or office supplies, weighing up to 20 pounds

Castle Rock, CO office or remote
Some travel required (~5%)
Internships are temporary with a start and end date each semester
