Jr. Beef Verification Specialist - Ranch

The Jr. Customer Verification Specialist for the ranch team assists and supports the Customer Verification Specialist team in the process of assessing and determining compliance of the operation’s program against established standards and program requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the ranch team on key customer accounts and provide superior customer service

  • Address potential and existing customer questions about verification programs, specific claims, tags, Beef Passport, etc. with support of the ranch team

  • Assist the ranch team with preparing customers for onsite audits of ranch locations

  • Communicate with onsite inspectors for upcoming, current, and past audits as needed

  • Follow up with and assist customers with corrective actions if necessary with support of the ranch team

  • Review audits for compliance to standards or program requirements

  • Compile audit findings into Verification Reports within timeline standards for the ranch team

  • Work with the customer to gather corrective actions for non-conformances

  • Collect and report customer feedback. Assist with strategy on solutions if applicable

  • Send notifications to customers for renewals or delist letters as needed

  • Perform any other responsibilities as needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma

  • 3 years of experience in Livestock and/or Agricultural

  • Ranch background

  • 2 years of customer service experience

  • Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated

  • Teamwork attitude with a strong aptitude for professionalism and courtesy

  • Ability to process a high volume of data in a productive and quality driven manner with a strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to keep accurate records, prepare and manage files, reports, letters, and billing

  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills required

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal/external staff, vendors, and clients

  • Discipline in following defined processes

  • Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, animal science, or other applicable field and/or 5 years of experience

  • Livestock and/or Agricultural background and experience in pork, poultry, sheep and/or dairy

  • Certification, Verification, and Onsite Inspector experience

  • Food and/or feed processing/manufacturing facility experience

  • Experience in industries with agriculture, agri-food systems, sustainability, and/or food and beverage certifications is a plus

  • Possess a problem solving and solution-oriented approach coupled with a client focused mindset

Physical Requirements

  • Able to use standard computer keyboard on a frequent basis.

  • Able to walk up and down stairs and to sit for up to 8 hours.

Working Conditions

  • Monday-Friday with Saturday rotation

  • Some travel required (~25%)
