Agriculture Intern

The Intern will gain hands-on experience in the agriculture industry, work closely with experienced professionals and mentors, and have an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection, entry, and analysis for specific projects

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve specific objectives

  • Assist with market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the agricultural industry

  • Support customer relationship management activities, including customer outreach, feedback collection, and database management

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders

  • Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas to discussions

  • Complete assigned tasks within deadlines and maintain accurate records

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development activities

  • Perform any other responsibilities as needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an agriculture, agribusiness, agronomy, horticulture, environmental science, sustainable farming, or similar degree program or recent graduate

  • Experience with agriculture and/or food supply chain management such as beef/dairy cattle, poultry, crop production, swine, seafood, consumer packaged goods

  • Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated

  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

  • Teamwork attitude with a strong aptitude for professionalism and courtesy

  • Ability to process a high volume of data in a productive and quality driven manner

  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal/external staff, vendors, and clients

  • Maintains alignment with Where Food Comes From, Inc.’s Mission, Purpose, and Values

  • Flexibility, focus and resilience in the face of high workload and competing demands

  • Maintain confidentiality

 

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

  • Able to use standard computer keyboard on a frequent basis.

  • Able to walk up and down stairs and to sit for up to 8 hours.

 

Working Conditions 

  • Castle Rock, CO office

  • Some travel required (~5%)

  • Internships are temporary with a start and end date each semester

  • Additionally, due to the nature of the information handled within this position, confidentiality and avoiding conflict of interest is required.
